Our Story

Tim and I have been married for twenty-nine years and have two grown daughters so we know a thing or two about working together. For years our friends and family have been urging us to share our talents, with my eye for design and Tim’s innate handiness it seemed like it was a real possibility. We finally listened, followed our dream, and thus The Happening Home came about.

We offer real estate services to help you find the perfect home for you or sell your home to start a new chapter. Our design services come in handy with our real estate services and often work in combination with the aspect of buying and selling a home. We also offer our design services for clients who are happy to stay put but want a fresh start. We are also well known for our project homes, which are quintessentially “happening homes” through and through.

For our project homes that we redesign and refurbish, we find houses in fabulous neighborhoods that are tired and ready for some new life and we reinvent and renovate them as if they were going to be our own home. We focus not only on adding detail and charm but functionality for modern-day living. Our “happening home” aesthetic can be described as a laid-back design that is intentionally beautiful and combines textures that complement one another and add visual interest, in essence, we aspire to make a hygge {cozy} home.

Our newest endeavor is a custom spec home that will be built just south of Parker, Colorado and is projected to be completed in 2025. We are excited to be able to design every detail and build from the ground up. It will be available for purchase upon completion.

We collaborate on all aspects of the business together. While I hold the real estate license and do the majority of the creative interior design work, Tim not only collaborates on the design but is on-site day in and day out managing our project homes, putting in the craftsmanship and the work that makes those design ideas come to fruition. He’s the one who gets all of the “happening homes” to the finish line.

It’s not lost on us how truly lucky we are to do this for a living, it brings us great joy to be able to create a space that people can call home.
